Doing things out of spite, but in a good way

Hello,

I have nothing to say, really. Fall is here, I have even made tomato soup because my parents had so many tomatoes in their yard, that I had no idea what to do with them anymore. Next year, I am going to learn to can things just to can be able to deal with this.

Anyway, recently, I've been doing more chores than usual, spending my oh so little precious free time after work to go buy groceries, cook, and clean even if the whole thing took me like 3-4 hours. Why? Out of spite. Why should I give my time to YouTube, Reddit or other companies when I can just invest it in myself? When I can invest it on cooking something for myself or going on a walk?

If you are struggling to do stuff and are addicted to your phone or the internet, try to do something else out of spite. Take your time to do it, too. Normally, I'd rush through stuff to be able to "enjoy the most out of my free time" only to end up doomscrolling because "I am too tired." Enough of that. Every second you don't spend on these algorithmic websites or apps, it is a second they LOSE and you WIN. Imagine knowing YouTube or social media didn't make any money off of you because, well, you were too busy taking care of yourself and your life and didn't have the time for their little silly bullshit.

This won't always work. Today, I was on the internet pretty much all evening, but hey at least I watched a whole episode of the podcast TheRestIsScience on Youtube, on full screen while having some chocolate. I've reported some slop channels. I always do. I don't even care if YouTube does anything about it. I will keep reporting it lol.

Anyway, have a good day!
